THE STANDARD SHOULD BE HIGHER

A badge is a claim.
A licence is a record.

Big promises are easy to publish. Independence, licensing and professional conduct deserve a closer look.

THE QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING

The claims are loud.
The facts speak louder.

Not every award or referral is misleading. But a polished badge cannot tell you how it was earned. Here's how to look a little closer.

01 / AWARDS

An award tells a story. Ask who wrote it.

Some programs involve paid entry, subscriptions or sponsorship. Ask whether agents who do not pay the platform can still be considered on equal terms.

02 / RANKINGS

“Number one” means very little without a method.

A ranking can be based on a suburb, time period, review count or selected metric. The fine print matters.

03 / REFERRALS

Follow the recommendation. Then follow the incentive.

A referral platform may introduce you to an agent, and some platforms receive a fee from that agent. Ask whether payment affects which agents are recommended.

THE NEXT QUESTION IS YOURS

Don't take their word for it.
Check the record.

Two separate checks. A clearer picture. No payment or account required.

Privacy & how it works

Your search is sent to AgentCheck’s server and the NSW licence service. AgentCheck does not create an account, save your searches to a database or send your reported register findings to the government. The selected public licence record and your reported result can remain in this browser tab for up to 30 minutes to help you return from the register. “Start a new search” clears this saved journey. Browser storage may remain until the tab closes; expired entries are discarded when the page next opens.

The hosting and government providers may retain operational access logs. Licence status is time-specific. AgentCheck does not independently search the Name and Shame Register, endorse an agent or assess their suitability.
